Junction City KS Child Support and Social Service Office enhances the well being of children by locating noncustodial parents, establish paternity, establish and enforce support orders, modify orders when appropriate, collect and distribute child support payments, and refer parents to other social service programs. To request to receive KS child support/alimony automatically, you can contact the Kansas Payment Center (KPC). The KPC is the state agency that collects and distributes child support payments in Kansas.
You can contact the KPC by phone at 1-877-572-5722 or by visiting their website at http://www.dcf.ks.gov/services/css/pages/kansaspaymentcenter.aspx.
When you contact the KPC, you will need to provide the following information:
Your name, address, and Social Security number
The name and address of the non-custodial parent
The amount of child support or alimony that is owed
Your bank account information or the information for the debit card that you want to use to receive payments
The KPC will then set up an automatic payment arrangement. The non-custodial parent’s employer will be instructed to withhold the child support or alimony payments from their paycheck and send them directly to the KPC. The KPC will then deposit the payments into your bank account or onto your debit card.
You can also request to receive child support or alimony payments through the KPC’s online payment system. To do this, you will need to create an account on the KPC’s website. Once you have created an account, you can set up an automatic payment arrangement or make one-time payments.
One of the ways to receive KS child support/alimony automatically is to request an Income Withholding Order (IWO) from the court or the state child support agency. An IWO is a legal document that instructs the employer of the person who owes child support/alimony to deduct the amount from their paycheck and send it to the Kansas Payment Center (KPC). The KPC then distributes the payment to the person who is entitled to receive it. This way, you don’t have to rely on the person who owes you to pay on time every month.
To request an IWO, you can contact your local child support office or fill out an online application on the Child Support Services website. You will need to provide information about yourself, the person who owes you, and your child support/alimony order. You may also need to provide proof of income and expenses for both parties. The state child support agency will review your request and issue an IWO if appropriate.
If you already have an IWO in place but the person who owes you is not paying or has changed jobs, you can contact your local child support office or the KPC to report the problem. The state child support agency can take enforcement actions against the person who owes you, such as passport denial, recreational license denial, driver’s license restriction, credit bureau reporting, tax intercept, or contempt of court.
