My children’s father signed an agreement to pay child support, I have received nothing.

Q) My children’s father & I signed an agreement back in August for our divorce. As part of that , he is ordered to pay child support. I’m just not sure if that’s supposed to go through you guys ? I have received nothing since court. Could you tell me what steps to take ? Thank you.

A) If child support was ordered as part of your divorce agreement, then the child support order should be processed through your state’s child support enforcement agency. You can contact your local child support agency to inquire about the status of your case and to ensure that the child support order has been processed correctly.

If you have not yet received any child support payments since the court order, you may want to contact your ex-husband and inquire about the delay. If he is not cooperative or if you have trouble getting in touch with him, you can contact your local child support agency to request that they take action to enforce the child support order. This may include garnishing his wages, intercepting tax refunds, or taking other legal action to ensure that the child support is paid.

You should also keep track of any missed or late child support payments and document any communication you have with your ex-husband or the child support agency regarding the matter. This can be helpful if you need to take legal action in the future to enforce the child support order.
