Q) Hi there I am having a hard time getting ahold of anyone. Ive called 4 different numbers. Im trying to pay my child support and its my first time actually paying it without it coming out if my work checks or my taxes. Ive been trying to pay my child support amount of $1,154 going on two weeks now. Ive left voice mails,, ive made 2 different child support accounts from two different sites. I thought I was getting somewhere because it was asking for my bank account and routing number to make scheduled payments, so I filled
all that information out and hit submit. Well a day later I got an email
Saying its wasnt able to process the money and that I was gonna have to find another way to pay it. This has been the hardest bill to pay. You want contact a real person and I had no idea that I had a MPI# so that itself was hard to figure out. I also just found out that they Child Support Agency just recently changed there rules to where everything had to be in your name and none else could pay it for you and I happened to bebon my honeymoon from the 20th through the 26yh
I was needing to get it paid before my court date that was coming up which happened to be on the 24th. Well my dad was gonna help me pay it so he went to online pay to pay with his credit card and its told him everything had to be in my name. So he had to deposit all the money onto my bank account but whether I call through phone or try to pay online, its not taking my money. Now its passed my court date so im sure I have a warrant. My question is, if I just get a certified check and drive up to the actual office to pay all of its will I still be facing 4 months of jail time or will they knock it off?

A) I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble paying your child support. If you’re having difficulty making payments online or by phone, going to the office in person with a certified check is a good option. It’s unlikely that you’ll face jail time for missing one payment, but it’s best to try to pay as soon as possible to avoid any legal consequences.

When you go to the office, make sure to bring your case number, the amount you owe, and any other relevant documentation. You may need to wait in line, but once you speak to a representative, they should be able to help you make your payment and answer any questions you have.

If you’re still concerned about facing legal consequences, you may want to consult with a lawyer who specializes in family law. They can help you understand your rights and responsibilities and provide guidance on how to handle the situation.
