I pay child support every month…she does drugs, and have different guys

child_support_personQ) What do I need to do because my kids mom is having our kids living with her friends and sometimes parent’s house, and have other people claiming our kids on their tax refund, and splitting the money…I pay child support every month…she does drugs, and have different guys coming in and out of the places where she stays, remind you we have 2 daughters, I’m most worried about…she’s leaves them home for days at at time, and that’s been going on for years, I just need to know what to do…

A) You will need to continue to fulfill you court mandated child support order. If you suspect that your children are being neglected you need to report the issue to your local social service child welfare office. Each state will have a child welfare hotline you can call to report child abuse. If you suspect that there is tax fraud you can call the Tax Fraud Hotline recording at 1-800-829-0433.

  1. You will need to provide evidence of your reduction of income in order for the judge to modify your child support obligation. The best evidence is the most recent tax returns and recent pay stubs. After the court orders a specific child support amount, it is often the case that one parent may seek to modify the child support agreement. However, a parent seeking child support modification will need to prove a change of circumstances.

Steps To ask for a court hearing to change your existing child support order:

    Fill out your court forms.
    Have your forms reviewed.
Make at least 2 copies of all your forms.
File your forms with the court clerk.
    Get your court date.
Serve your papers on the other parent (and the LCSA if involved)
    File your proof of service.
