NEW YORK Child Support COMPLETELY disenfranchises people with disabilities!!
There is NO phone # to contact anyone in charge of your child support case, you can ONLY speak to an inept person at the 800 child support line that only gives you GENERIC information and has ZERO power to RESOLVE issues!! AND they do NOT pass on information to the worker or District Attorney in charge of child support.
The child support hotline ONLY gives 2 remedies, GO into a local office OR mail a P.O. BOTH of these OPTIONS ARE NOT acceptable for people with disabilities and when an URGENT matter is at hand!!
New York closed my disabled daughter’s case before her graduation AND New York FAILED to send a closure NOTICE and FAIL to SEND monies collected by Tennessee COURT ORDER they received. New York has FAILED EVEN after receiving NOTICE from Tennessee that the money was DUE.
New York was sent an updated IEP with the graduation date of June 5th 2019. NO payments have been dispersed since May 2019. Part of May 2019 is DUE and ALL of June 2019 is PAST DUE!!
NEW YORK is FAILING to have proper channels of communication to REMEDY URGENT MATTERS, ESPECIALLY for disabled people.
I was also told by the N.Y. child support hotline that there was NO way to file a FAIR HEARING or oversight dispute with any other higher government agency. And that they had NO information to do so.
New York Child Support’s FAILURE to send DUE child support and send a letter / notification of CLOSURE is WORSE than a DEAD BEAT PARENT!!
