My experience with IL CS Services has been a nightmare. I’m the NCP in my case which started in 2009. Ive hired 3 attorneys and spent over $20k over a 7 year time span to get this horrible mess fixed. In 2016 I finally got my CS Court Order payment finalized at $700 a month for 2 kids that included $152 for arrears. The $152 arrears pymt was more than 29% of my disposable income, which is more than the 20% required by IL state law. I agreed to this amount so I could get my arrears pd off faster. 3 months after the court finalized my CS payment at $700 monthly, the state of IL sent out a new income WH notice to my employer for $889 monthly that includes an additional $189 in arrears. Now my arrears is around $342 a month. I’ve lost my car, house and my job because of this additional arrears they decided to add to my payment. Here’s the bad part…………….I’ve called Donna, my assigned CS caseworker who’s in the Belleville regional office to tell her about this issue and she will not return my calls after I’ve called her over 10 times and left messages. Oh, I moved from the state of IL 8 years ago and my ex moved, with my children, from IL around the same time. My ex did not get court approval or my concent to move from the state of IL. I tried to file an emergency court notice requiring her to stay in the state and for her to provide a valid reason for her to move. I received a call from her attorney telling me that requiring her to return to the state of IL now that she’s moved with my kids would be detrimental to them. My ex never got a new visitation order established or anything. She just up and moved and nobody did nothing about it.
One more thing, the current judge over seeing my CS case used to be the managing Partner at my exs current attorney’s office. So the judge and my exs attorney are big buddies.
Neither my ex, myself or my children have lived in IL for over 7 years. She’s in Maryland and I’m in FL. I dont understand why IL is even involved in any aspect of this in 2020? My ex won’t let me see my kids, but she calls IL and makes sure she gets her CS money, which my oldest is 19 and graduated from HS and they continue to make me pay CS for her as well.
Now I understand why theres so called “dead beat dads” out there because of situations like this.
