If the mother of your child is married, the husband is presumed to be the legal father of the child. However, you can still establish paternity if you can prove that you are the biological father. One way to do this is to take a DNA test. The child support enforcement agency can help you arrange for a DNA test.
Once paternity is established, you will be ordered to pay child support. The amount of child support you will be ordered to pay will be based on your income and the needs of your child. The child support enforcement agency will collect the child support payments from you and distribute them to the mother of your child.
