I received a letter from the TN Child Support office in Bolivar, TN informing me that I had an appointment scheduled on January 9, 2019 with Ms. Anita Chandler. I arrived at my appointment 3-4 minutes late because I had trouble locating the office. I waited on Ms. Chandler for at least 15 minutes and I was the only one in the office other than the employees for the 30-45 min I was there. When she did come out, I went in her office to find out why I had been called to this meeting in which I was informed that a case had been opened against my ex-husband by the TN Child Support office due to the fact that he has failed to maintain health insurance on my son which resulted in me having to put him on TennCare. She was extremely rude and condescending that eventually I asked her why she was treating me this way when she is the one that sent me a letter to come there. While I was there I asked her if I could have the case against my older childrens’ father re-evaluated due to the fact that his income had increased significantly in the last 8 years. She told me that particular case was not in her district (she said it was final in Carroll County); however, it was final in Fayette Co, the same county as the case I was asked to come in for. I have since verified with the Fayette Co court house that she had not been truthful and that all of my paperwork was correct so I am not sure if she just did not want to deal with it or she just made a mistake but now I will have to make an appointment and drive another hour and 15 minutes to come back there over that case. Five days after my appointment I received a letter stating that I had failed to comply and missed my appointment and that my son’s TennCare could be cancelled as a result of this. I do not know what Ms. Chandler’s problem was that day but I have never been treated that way by someone for no reason at all and it took everything I had in me to continue to be nice and respectful to her for the remainder of the meeting. I will drive as far as I have to just so I never have to meet with that woman again.
