don’t understand .. person paying child support doesn’t meet the 20% increase

I don’t understand how the person paying child support doesn’t meet the 20% increase when they are making 20,000.00 more then he was over 6 years ago and I am no longer working. How is his daughter supposed to get anything she needs with 187.23 a month and has been like this for over 6 years making 3000.00 to 4000.00 a month and he can’t afford to pay more then 187.23 a month I know people that are making 1500 a month and have to pay 800 or 900 for one child. My poor kid is getting screwed and when she asks for him to get her anything he never has the money and he lives with his parents and doesn’t have to pay for a damn thing. I don’t understand so here is soon to be 16 year old daughter will be having a birthday on the 21st of this month and she can’t have a party because we are broke and he can’t afford to help because “he pays to much in child support” I need help please. Anyone have any suggestions.

A) I’m so sorry to hear about your situation. It sounds like you are really struggling and that your daughter is missing out on a lot because of her father’s lack of financial support.

I understand that you’re frustrated with the child support system and that you feel like your daughter is getting screwed. It’s important to remember that the child support system is designed to help children, and that it’s not always perfect. There are a lot of factors that go into determining child support payments, and it’s not always possible to get the amount that you think is fair.

If you’re not happy with the child support payments that you’re receiving, you can always try to modify the order. You can do this by filing a petition with the court. You’ll need to provide evidence that your circumstances have changed since the order was originally made.

In the meantime, there are a few things that you can do to help your daughter have a happy birthday. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Have a small, low-cost party at home. You can invite her friends over for cake and ice cream, or you can go out for pizza.
  • Give her a homemade gift. This could be something as simple as a card or a framed photo of the two of you.
  • Take her out for a special activity. This could be anything from going to the movies to going to the park.

The most important thing is to make her feel special and loved. Let her know that you care about her and that you’re there for her.
