What can I do to reduce the amount I pay for my daughter’s child support

Q) Hi I have a daughter that will be 4 that is out of state. Her mother has always denied any kind of contact with me. Since before she was born. I was served the original papers while out of state working and didnt receive them till after the original court date. I pay what I feel is a unfair amount for her mother not allowing me to apart of anything and being in any kind of contact with me. I recently had a son that I do my best to care for but with the amount I already pay it has put an enormous strain on me and his mother to care for him. What can I do to reduce the amount I pay for my daughter so that I can care for my son more as well. Or is there anything i can do to get out of what i for her since her mother refuses contact of any sort.i hate to not be there but i feel it would be better at this point for everyone mentally bc It has caused many problems to myself and my current fiance.

A) You can request a modification of your child support order if there has been a change in your financial circumstances. In order to modify the amount you pay, you would need to file a motion with the court that issued the original support order. The court will consider factors such as your income, expenses, and the needs of both children when deciding on a new amount.

If you and your daughter’s mother are able to come to an agreement about a new amount of support, you can submit this agreement to the court for approval.

Additionally, if the mother of your daughter has been denying you contact with her, you may want to consider seeking a court order to establish your parental rights, including the right to have a relationship with your daughter.

It is important to seek the advice of a qualified attorney in your area who can assist you with this process.
